My sister Margaret also celebrated her birthday. She is got a job working as a campaign manager and would eventually like to run for office. She has big ideas on how to make this world a better place. Who knows maybe it was simply bringing her back to this time that changed the future to the Utopian society mom and dad visited.
I am a now a teenager.
I can study recipes and take cooking classes at the restaurants here in town.
Even though dad developed level 10 cooking skills in order to make the ambrosia to bring mom and my older sisters back from the dead he doesn’t gook very often. We get by on leftovers, takeout and old birthday cake. I went through and cleaned all of that out of the fridge and then restocked it with fresh ingredients including fruits and vegetables from our garden and eggs from our chickens.
I got to work on cooking us a nice healthy breakfast.
It was great having the family sit around the table together to enjoy a meal.
I also continue to work in the Garden.
And cook up new recipes. So far I have learned how to make Ratatouille, Cheesesteak, Fish & Chips, and more.
I still love to bake and recently made cakes for my brother Mario and Mitchell’s birthdays.
Mario is now a teenager.
Mitchell is a young adult. He graduated and joined the police force.
He got engaged to Miriam. GROSS!
She hates that he is a cop. She thinks he should have become a pro-athlete or gone into politics – something more high profile. She loves getting attention and doesn’t think a cop is glamorous enough. They argue about his job A LOT.
After yet another big argument he called up our sister Margaret and the two went to a local bar. The next day I overheard Margaret on the phone just yelling at him.
Apparently he had an affair with Margret’s friend Cecilia. The one I wanted him to be with in the first place.
I guess the evening started out fine. The three of them played pool and did some dancing.
But I guess as the night went on Mitchell drank more and more.
He started flirting with Cecilia.
And even got up on stage and started belting out the song “Cecilia” in the karaoke machine.
Celia, you’re breaking my heart,
You’re shaking my confidence daily.
Oh Cecilia, I’m down on my knees,
I’m begging you please to come home.
Soon the two were kissing.
And then they woohooed in a photo booth of all places.
I heard Mitchell telling Margaret that he destroyed the pictures. Ugggh men, of course that is not why Margaret is upset. She was upset that her brother would woohoo with her best friend while he was engaged to someone else.
A few months later Cecilia stopped by and told Mitchell that she is pregnant.
He was shocked.
Mitchell decided to end things with Miriam. She did not take it well. I may not like her but she deserved to be treated better than that.
Mitchell proposed to Cecilia.
She turned him down flat. She doesn’t want to marry him just because she is having his baby. Mom insisted though that she move in with us as her place is way to small for a baby. It is like a soap opera around here.
I spend a lot of time at the coffee shop to escape the craziness that is my house. I usually order something warm to drink and then sit and work on homework or read my cookbooks.
One day while I was there I met Matthew Harman.
We started hanging out more. I would frequently invite him over after school and we would do our homework, play chess or watch TV.
However, we rarely “watched” TV. More often than not TV watching ended with us making out.
He told me his favorite meal is spaghetti so I invited him over for dinner.
He seemed to enjoy it.
He asked me to the winter formal and I got a new dress which I absolutely love.
I am not sure he was thrilled with the matching pink vest. But we still had a wonderful time and he asked me to go steady and I said yes.
On Love Day Matthew invited me to the Spring Festival. We tried out the love meter and got one of the highest scores.
We went rollerskating.
Played horse shoes.
And even went slow dancing.
Cecilia went into labor and Mitchell FREAKED OUT. It was kinda funny.
Cecilia had a beautiful little girl named Nicole.
After Nicole was born Mitchell once again proposed and this time Cecilia said yes. I guess he has been showing her how much he really does care about her over these last few months.
I baked the cake for their wedding.
I think it turned out great.
Rather than get married outside in our backyard the two decided to get married at the new town wedding chapel.
It was a beautiful ceremony and all of our family was there.
Afterwards we went out back to the courtyard and Mitchell cut the cake. Everyone told me how delicious it was.
Afterwards Mitchell, Cecilia and Nicole moved into a house of their own right across the street.
I am filling out applications to culinary school.
And trying out new recipes.
One day when checking my email I was thrilled to see I was accepted to my first choice the Bridgeport Culinary Institute.
Not wanting a long distance relationship I broke up with Matthew.
Even though I knew it was for the best it was still tough. Mom was a big comfort and let me cry on her shoulder.
I graduated with honors and in the fall I will be heading to Bridgeport to attend the Culinary Institute.
